Week in Review
Tuesday afternoon, Christian toured Noble Community Clinics in Sheboygan with CEO Kristin Blanchard Stearns. More on that below.
 |
Wednesday, he joined Girl Scout Troop 8395 for a conversation about the levels and branches of government and how decisions made by elected officials affect our communities. Thank you to Angella for organizing it, and to the troop for the good questions. |
| Thursday, he took part in the Seehafer News 9th District State Senate debate, which covered data centers, education, and cannabis legalization. It airs on WOMT 100, 980 WCUB, WOMTRadio.com, and CubRadio.com. We will share the recording when it is available. In the meantime, Seehafer’s written coverage is on our website. |

Campaign Statement: The Sheboygan Falls School Referendum
| Today, Christian issued a statement supporting a YES vote on the Sheboygan Falls school facilities referendum. He supported earlier versions of this proposal and has said so publicly. He also knows a tax question is not an easy one, so here is the plain version you can share with neighbors. |
 |
The cost. The district estimates the $65.7 million referendum would have a maximum tax impact of $0.16 per $1,000 of property value:
| $100,000 home |
$16 per year ($1.33/month) |
| $250,000 home |
$40 per year ($3.33/month) |
| $500,000 home |
$80 per year ($6.67/month) |
|
These are the district’s planning estimates, and actual impacts may vary with property values and future financial conditions.
What it is. A capital referendum for buildings and learning spaces, not an increase to day-to-day operating costs. It focuses on core educational needs, adds opportunities in career and technical education, STEM, skilled trades, and workforce preparation, and follows a district process that listened and scaled back earlier plans.
Why he is speaking up. It is a clear local example of the pressure state decisions put on communities. When Madison does not fully fund what it requires of schools, the cost lands on local property taxpayers. Christian believes accountability means weighing costs carefully, and he concluded this proposal meets that test.
The district’s remaining information sessions are listed under Key Dates below.

Civic Spotlight: A Look Inside Noble Community Clinics
| Noble brings medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, chiropractic care, case management, and other services together under one roof, serving more than 10,000 patients in the district. Christian went in expecting to talk mostly about healthcare. He came out thinking about transportation, housing, food security, childcare, and mental health, and how each can make it harder for someone to get the care they need. Sometimes people don’t need another brochure or phone number. They need someone to walk with them through it. |

Independent, in Plain Words
You may hear questions about what “Independent” means. Here is an answer you can use at the door, at work, or across the table.
If someone asks: “What does it mean to be Independent?”
Christian is running with no party behind him. For him, independence is a way of working: listen first, understand the problem, make a decision, explain it, and be accountable for the result. Judge him by how he has served, not by a label.
|
“He is a genuine person and a very good listener, and he consistently puts the well-being of his constituents ahead of any party line.”
Supervisor Jon Kuhlow

Help Get Christian’s Name Out
Christian is running without a party behind him, which means no party budget for advertising either. With less than four weeks until Election Day, we want to put his name and message on the radio and online, in front of voters across the district who have not yet met him at a door or an event.
If you are able, a contribution this week helps us pay for radio and online ads.
