9th District State Senate Debate

Seehafer News: Ellis, Binsfeld debate data centers, education, marijuana in Senate District 9 race
October 9, 2026

Independent candidate Christian Ellis joined his Republican opponent for Seehafer News' 9th District State Senate debate, discussing data centers, education, and marijuana legalization. The debate gave both candidates a chance to explain their approaches to representing Wisconsin's 9th Senate District. Ellis is running as an Independent because he believes residents deserve a state senator focused on people, not one political party. He said he has spent the campaign listening to teachers, farmers, healthcare workers, business owners, local officials, and families, who are asking government to be honest, responsible, and focused on problems it can actually solve.

Christian Ellis Participates in 9th District State Senate Debate

October 9, 2026

Independent candidate Christian Ellis joined Republican Amy Binsfeld for Seehafer News' 9th District State Senate debate, discussing data centers, education, and marijuana legalization.

The debate gave both candidates an opportunity to explain their approaches to representing Wisconsin's 9th Senate District.

Christian is running as an Independent because he believes residents deserve a state senator focused on people, not one political party. As he explained during the debate:

“I’ve spent this campaign listening to teachers, farmers, healthcare workers, business owners, local officials, and families. Most people are asking government to solve every problem. They are asking it to be honest, responsible, and actually focused on problems it can actually solve. That’s what I’m trying to offer.”

Seehafer News has published written coverage of the debate. The full audio recording is expected to be available through Seehafer Podcasts. We will update this page with the recording when it is published.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
