Wisconsin Should Not Subsidize Wealthiest Corporations

I do not support taxpayer subsidies for some of the largest corporations in the world. If a company like Microsoft, Google, Meta, or Amazon wants to build a data center in Wisconsin, it should be prepared to make that investment without asking Wisconsin taxpayers to share the cost.

Before any project moves forward, communities deserve clear answers about water consumption, energy demand, infrastructure impacts, noise, and long-term costs. The people who live near these facilities will be living with those consequences long after the construction crews leave.

These decisions don't just happen in Madison. They happen in town halls, city halls, and county board rooms across Wisconsin. Residents need to stay engaged in those conversations, and local governments need zoning and development policies that reflect the values and priorities of the communities they serve.

That's why I believe Wisconsin should revisit the incentives that were created to attract these projects and evaluate whether they are truly serving the public interest. Economic development matters. So does accountability. Wisconsin should not be in the business of writing blank checks to some of the wealthiest corporations in the world.
