Affordability & Cost of Living
The rising cost of living affects nearly every family in Wisconsin. Whether it's housing, childcare, healthcare, property taxes, groceries, insurance, or utilities, many people feel like they're working harder just to stay in the same place.
I believe government should focus less on partisan fights and more on reducing the financial pressures that make it harder for families to build stable, secure lives.
Housing
Too many people are struggling to find housing they can afford.
We need communities that can grow responsibly, create housing opportunities for young families, workers, and seniors, and remove barriers that unnecessarily drive up costs.
The goal should be simple: people who work in our communities should be able to afford to live in them.
Childcare
Childcare costs have become a major financial burden for many families.
If we want parents to participate in the workforce and raise families successfully, we need sustainable childcare systems that work for parents, providers, employers, and communities.
Supporting families is one of the most effective ways to improve economic security and reduce financial stress.
Healthcare Costs
Healthcare affordability remains a challenge for working families, employers, and retirees.
The discussion should not only be about insurance coverage. It should also focus on the underlying costs that continue driving healthcare expenses higher.
People should be able to access necessary care without fear that a medical issue will become a financial crisis.
Property Taxes
Property taxes continue to place pressure on homeowners, renters, farmers, and businesses.
My goal is simple: to stop balancing Wisconsin's books on the backs of property taxpayers.
When the state underfunds local governments and schools, those costs do not disappear. They are often shifted onto local property tax bills.
I support increasing state revenue sharing and special education funding so that local communities are not forced to shoulder an ever-growing share of those costs.
Workforce & Economic Opportunity
Employers across Wisconsin continue to face workforce challenges while workers face rising costs and changing economic conditions.
A healthy economy requires both thriving businesses and opportunities for workers to build stable careers, support their families, and contribute to their communities.
Economic policy should focus on creating conditions where both can succeed.
The Bigger Picture
Affordability is not one issue. It is the result of dozens of decisions that affect housing, healthcare, education, childcare, taxation, infrastructure, and economic opportunity.
I believe we should evaluate policies by asking a practical question:
Will this make life more affordable, stable, and secure for the people who live and work in District 9?
