Hi Friend
|

|
Week in Review
Almost 50 neighbors turned out for the Oostburg Cookout at Veterans Park last Saturday, plenty of food (that smoked pulled pork did not last long), good conversation, and a real crowd for an afternoon Christian had been looking forward to all summer, since he grew up in the area.
 |
The next day brought the 79th Annual Newton Volunteer Firefighters Parade, one stop in a run of fire department visits that's taken Christian across the district this month, more on that below. In between, the team kept up the canvassing pace in Manitowoc, and thank you to everyone from this list who's been out knocking with us.

Civic Spotlight: What Fire Departments Are Saying
|
After visiting several fire departments around the district, Christian's noticed no two are exactly alike. In Sheboygan and Two Rivers, the department has become something like a community hub, a gathering place as much as a service. In many of the district's smaller communities, the conversation keeps turning to recruitment and retention: finding the next generation willing to serve.
|
 |
 |
This week he had the chance to introduce himself to the Manitowoc County Firefighters Association and thank them for what they do. Different department, different community, same thread running through all of it: these are people who step up when their neighbors need them most. Christian says he's looking forward to more of these conversations as he learns what the district's fire service needs going forward.

The New Website Is Live
You've heard us building up to this all summer: the new christianellisforwi.com is officially up, with a full look at where Christian stands and how he approaches decisions.
If you know someone who's been asking where Christian stands on the issues, this is the easiest way to answer them. Take a look, and if you spot a friend or neighbor who'd find it useful, send it their way.

Campaign Statement: No Blank Checks for Data Centers
This week Christian released a statement opposing taxpayer subsidies for large data center projects proposed by companies like Microsoft, Google, Meta, and Amazon. His position: if a company that size wants to build in Wisconsin, it should be prepared to make that investment without asking Wisconsin taxpayers to cover the cost, and communities deserve real answers on water use, energy demand, and long-term impact before any project moves forward.

Join Us: Manitowoc County Fair
Christian's team will be out at the Manitowoc County Fair on Wednesday, August 26, saying hello and answering questions. Come find us and say hi, and if you can spare an hour to help staff the table, we'd love to have you.

Sports Corner: Tell Us How You Watch
We're building out Sports Corner and want it to actually reflect this district. So: how do you usually experience sports? Playing, watching in person or at home, coaching, or mostly there for the kids? Takes ten seconds, and your answer will help shape what we feature here going forward.

Help Us Finish Strong
With the fall fair season, canvassing, and the run to November all happening at once, this is one of the busiest stretches of the campaign so far, and one of the most expensive. Every contribution goes directly toward getting Christian in front of more voters across the district: printed materials, event costs, and the day-to-day work of a grassroots campaign.
If you're able to chip in this week, it helps us keep pace heading into the fall.

Get Involved
You've already been part of building this campaign. Here's where we could really use you next:
-
Bring a friend or neighbor. The best conversations this summer have started with someone bringing along a person who'd never met Christian before. Who's one person you could invite to the fair or a canvass?
-
Take a shift lead role. We need a few people to help run point on upcoming canvasses, greeting volunteers, handing out turf, answering questions. No experience required, just willingness to show up early.
-
Host something small. A coffee, a backyard gathering, an introduction to a group you're part of. If you'd be willing to open your circle to Christian, reply to this email and we'll help you put it together.

|
|
|
Thank you again for being part of this effort.
Every doorstep, every event, every conversation helps us understand this district a little better, and we couldn't do any of it without you.
