About the District
One district, many communities
Wisconsin's 9th Senate District is a large and varied part of eastern Wisconsin. It includes nearly all of Sheboygan County, portions of southern and eastern Manitowoc County, and the northeast corner of Fond du Lac County. More than 178,000 Wisconsinites call the district home.
The district includes cities, villages, and townships, from larger communities along Lake Michigan to smaller rural communities and agricultural areas inland.
What connects these places is not that they are all alike. It is that the people who live here share a stake in the future of the region.
A district shaped by place
District 9 includes communities with different histories, economies, landscapes, and day-to-day concerns.
Along Lake Michigan are communities such as Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Two Rivers. Inland are communities including Sheboygan Falls, Plymouth, Kiel, Kohler, Elkhart Lake, and many smaller villages and townships.
That variety matters.
A family running a farm faces different challenges from a family working in manufacturing. A small business owner in a downtown district may see the economy differently from someone commuting to work. A parent navigating local schools, a business hiring workers, and a community thinking about roads, water, or emergency services may all experience the same state policy in very different ways.
Good representation starts by understanding those differences.
What matters here
The issues facing District 9 are ultimately local issues.
The cost of raising a family. The strength of our public schools. Access to healthcare. Reliable roads and infrastructure. The health of local businesses and manufacturers. Responsible government. The ability of communities to prepare for the challenges ahead.
These concerns do not stop at municipal boundaries, and they should not be reduced to partisan talking points.
They require representatives who are willing to listen, understand the problem, consider competing priorities, and focus on what actually works.
A district worth knowing
Christian has spent most of his life in this part of Wisconsin. He grew up near Oostburg, went to school in the area, built a family and a business here, coached local youth soccer, served on the Sheboygan County Board, and continues to be involved in the communities around him.
That local experience shapes how he approaches the State Senate.
District 9 is not an abstract political map. It is the collection of neighborhoods, farms, businesses, schools, parks, churches, downtowns, lakeshores, and rural roads that people call home.
Christian believes representing the district means knowing those places and, more importantly, knowing the people who live in them.
