Gun Rights & Public Safety
I support the Second Amendment and the right of law-abiding citizens to own and use firearms responsibly. I enjoy shooting and understand why many Wisconsin families view firearms as an important part of recreation, hunting, sport, self-defense, and personal freedom.
At the same time, I believe most people share a common goal: safer schools, safer homes, and safer communities.
The challenge is finding solutions that improve public safety while respecting constitutional rights.
My Position
I support universal background checks because I believe people purchasing firearms should be subject to a consistent screening process.
Red Flag Laws
I am also open to carefully constructed red flag laws that include strong due process protections, judicial review, clear standards of evidence, and penalties for abuse of the system.
Practical Solutions, Constitutional Rights
My approach is the same one I bring to every issue: focus on practical solutions, respect individual rights, and evaluate proposals based on whether they actually work.
