This Week with Christian Ellis

July 25, 2026

Hi Friend

Week in Review

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the World Cup Final Watch Party. Preliminary numbers show we raised approximately $2,200 to support the campaign.

This week included a school visit in Oostburg, a ribbon cutting at Fresh Meals on Wheels, door knocking, and an overnight shift assisting with Sheboygan County's Point-in-Time Count.

The conversations were all different, but the theme was familiar: people care deeply about their communities and appreciate being heard.

Civic Spotlight

Two weeks ago we mentioned Christian planned to volunteer for the county's Point-in-Time Count. He did, an overnight shift alongside Lakeshore Community Action Program volunteers and outreach workers, checking in on unsheltered neighbors and connecting them with resources.

Most of our stops that night were quiet. Near the end of the shift, we met three individuals spending the night in their vehicles.

They were appreciative of hygiene kits and information about an upcoming resource event. It was a reminder that behind every statistic is a real person with a story.

Join Us: Open House on the River

Kate and Christian would like to invite you to their home for a summer evening on the river.

We'll have food, drinks, kayaks, a fire, s'mores, and plenty for the kids to do. Guests are welcome to enjoy the above-ground pool, paddle on the river, play basketball or soccer, ride bikes and scooters, or simply relax and visit with friends and neighbors. Heavy hors d'oeuvres, snacks, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages provided throughout the evening.

Families are welcome. If your children would like to use the pool, bring swimsuits and towels. We have some seating, but it's a good idea to bring a chair just in case.

Join a canvass. Every doorstep this summer has taught us the same thing: people want to talk about their community, not national politics. No experience necessary, we'll pair you with someone who's done it before.

Fish Fry Report

VFW Post 9156 Fish FryFriday's fish fry was at the Sheboygan VFW, and the conversation covered school funding, road construction, the Packers, and whether Old Fashioneds are better with brandy or bourbon. In other words, a pretty normal Wisconsin evening.

Next Friday, July 31, Christian's headed to the Town of Two Rivers Volunteer Fire Department's Annual Fish Boil, 6525 County Road B, Two Rivers, running 3 to 8 pm. He'll be there around 5 pm, so stop by and say hello if you're in the area.

It's also the start of something we'll be following for a while: many of the volunteer fire departments across the district rely on events like this fish boil to fund their operations, and Christian's planning to visit more of them in the weeks ahead.

Got a favorite supper club, church, tavern, VFW, or hidden local gem? Reply and let us know where he should go next.

If you appreciate what we're building and would like to help us reach more voters across the district, please consider making a contribution.

Thank you again for being part of this effort.

Every doorstep, every event, every conversation helps us understand this district a little better.
