Hi Friend

Week in Review
Friday's Open House on the river drew about 40 friends and neighbors for food, kayaks, and a fire. (The apricot dip was the star. Same recipe we've been handing out at parades all summer, and yes, it's that good.)
Last weekend, Christian and the team walked the Two Rivers Snowfest parade route, handing out recipe cards and bringing along a soccer goal for kids on the sidelines.
Wednesday's canvass in Manitowoc kept the district-wide door count growing, alongside Thursday's canvass before Levitt AMP's free concert on City Green.
Christian spent time this week with several local organizations serving families in crisis, including the Sheboygan County Food Bank and Safe Harbor.
This morning, Christian joined Sheboygan County's Snapshot Day program, pulling water samples and learning to identify invasive species.

Civic Spotlight
Over the past few weeks, Christian has been sitting down with the people and organizations who help our neighbors through the hardest moments: the Sheboygan County Food Bank, Safe Harbor, Fresh Meals on Wheels, and others working across mental health, housing, transportation, and domestic violence.
A pattern keeps coming up, told a different way in every conversation but landing in the same place. Most people don't have just one problem. Food insecurity, housing, mental health, transportation, and childcare are often tangled together, and more than one organization has described the same frustration: a referral only works if someone follows through and makes the connection.
It's not a complaint about any one agency. It's just what keeps surfacing. Christian says it's a thread worth paying attention to, and he's planning to keep having these conversations before drawing any conclusions about what it means.
Christian spent this morning with Sheboygan County's Planning & Conservation team, learning to spot invasive species like zebra mussels and Eurasian water milfoil in local waterways. What stuck with him wasn't the mussels. It was meeting people quietly doing important, easy-to-overlook work, much like the conversations above: there's real expertise already at work in this community, most of it out of sight.

A Note on the Ballot
Some of you who've voted absentee have noticed Christian isn't on the August 11 primary ballot. That's expected: the primary is how parties choose nominees, and since Christian is running as an Independent, there's no primary race for him to be in. He'll be on the ballot in November.
