This Week's Newsletter

This week: Team Christian showed up in Kiel despite the rain, while Christian spent a beautiful Saturday on the doors in Two Rivers and Manitowoc, continuing the conversations that are shaping the campaign.

Christian also served as a Chief Election Inspector on August 11, working alongside neighbors from across the community to help make sure the election ran securely and accurately. He sat down with Manitowoc County Executive Tyler Martell to talk about the shared challenges facing communities across the district, including housing, workforce, infrastructure, and long-term community health. This Saturday, we're back in Oostburg for the cookout at Veterans Park, with the Newton Volunteer Firefighters Picnic and Parade coming Sunday.

We're also giving you a first look at what's next: a new website built around transparency, designed to answer your questions about where Christian stands and, just as importantly, how he approaches difficult decisions. Read on for the latest from the campaign and ways to get involved.

This Week with Christian Ellis

August 15, 2026

Hi Friend,

Week in Review

The parade team doesn't mind a little rain.

The Kiel Picnic Parade got rained out Sunday, but Team Christian showed up anyway, and so did a lot of Kiel. Plenty of parade-goers weren't about to let a little water change their plans, and the conversations on the ground ended up being some of the best of the week.

The day before, Christian called it possibly the nicest day of the summer, and he spent it on the doors in Two Rivers and Manitowoc. Rained-out parade or perfect canvassing weather, the team's out there either way.

Join Us This Weekend

Christian grew up in the Oostburg area, and this Saturday we're back at Veterans Park for food, family, and a chance to meet him in person.

Civic Spotlight: Serving Every Voter

Last week we mentioned Christian would be serving as a Chief Election Inspector on August 11. He did, a long day at a Sheboygan Falls polling station, working alongside more than two dozen fellow neighbors from all backgrounds to make sure the election ran securely and accurately. The same thing was happening at polling places across Wisconsin.

Elections don't run themselves. They rely on people willing to give their time and do the work, and Christian said he was proud to be part of it.

Community Conversations

This week Christian sat down with Manitowoc County Executive Tyler Martell. It's part of a pattern he's noticed all year, meeting with educators, nonprofit leaders, local officials, first responders, and business owners, the same themes keep coming up: housing, workforce challenges, infrastructure, and the long-term health of our communities.

What we heard

The details change depending on who's across the table, but the throughline doesn't. What happens in Manitowoc County doesn't stay in Manitowoc County, the same way what happens in Sheboygan County affects our neighbors. Most of these are community problems, not partisan ones, and they take people willing to work together across county and party lines to actually solve them.

Thanks to Tyler for taking the time to share his perspective.

Coming Soon: A New Website Built Around Transparency

Over the past several months, many of you have asked where Christian stands on issues ranging from education and healthcare to abortion, gun rights, election integrity, and school choice.

We're building a new website designed to answer those questions directly and transparently, while also explaining how Christian approaches difficult decisions and why. Stay tuned.

More Ways to Get Involved

Every doorstep this summer has taught us the same thing: people want to talk about their community, not national politics. No experience necessary, we'll pair you with someone who's done it before.

Upcoming Canvass Dates

Sat, Aug 15, 1–3 PM Oostburg
Sun, Aug 16, 1–3 PM Newton
Thu, Aug 20, 4–8 PM Manitowoc
Thu, Aug 27, 4–8 PM Manitowoc

Come for the full window or drop in for whatever time you've got. We also need drivers: pairing a driver with a canvasser means more doors and more conversations, so if you'd rather drive than knock, that helps just as much.

Watch Christian's Message

Tuesday was Wisconsin's partisan primary. Christian wasn't on the ballot, as an Independent candidate, he advances directly to November.

But one thing stood out this week: people are paying attention. More residents are reaching out through the website and Facebook page. More questions are coming in about the campaign's priorities and positions. We're even starting to hear from people making unsolicited contributions, looking for a different kind of politics.

Christian voted

"It really seems like the word is getting out, and people are excited about a nonpartisan, people-oriented, district-first campaign," Christian said.

That's encouraging, but there's still a lot of work ahead. Over the next few months we're expanding our door-knocking efforts, growing our phone bank, attending events across the district, and continuing conversations with voters in every corner of Senate District 9.

If you're wondering how you can help move this forward, we'd love to have you involved. Whether it's your time, your talents, or your financial support, there's a place for you on this team.
