Christian's decision to run as an Independent is central to how he believes public service should work.
He believes elected officials should be willing to listen to people who disagree with them, consider the facts and circumstances of each issue, and make decisions based on what they believe will serve their communities, not simply follow a party position.
That does not mean avoiding difficult questions or pretending every issue has an easy answer. It means being willing to explain how a decision was reached and remain accountable for the result.
